Anna is believed to be the sister of Caroline. Henry could be the father or possibly a brother of Nicholas.

Obituary of Henry Stemper; The Dubuque Herald, Dubuque, Iowa; Saturday, January 18, 1896, pg. 8 (date of death Jan 16, 1896); Roll #57, Nov. 30, 1895-Mar. 28, 1896, Carnegie-Stout Public Library; Dubuque, Iowa: Henry Stemper died Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home, 1055 Cedar street, aged 68 years. He was born in Belgium, married there and at the age of 30 came to Dubuque. He is survived by three sons by his first marriage and his second wife survives him with three sons and three daughters. He was a shoemaker by occupation and highly esteemed by a large number of friends. The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the residence to St. Mary's church. Burial will be at the German Catholic cemetery.
